My name is Frances Bellord. I help people make the most of their gardens and I have a particular interest in inviting the natural world into that cultivated space.

I am a gardener, plantswoman and designer; I provide plant advice, planting plans, surveys, planting identification and garden design to Bath and the surrounding counties.

I use my knowledge and experience to read the garden, talk to the owner and suggest ways to improve that space. You may have just moved to your property and want to know what all the plants are, you may want to radically overhaul the garden, slightly change it or you may simply need some help with gardening. If any one of these scenarios is the case then please contact me.

Founded in 2009 I have many years experience of the plants, trees, shrubs and landscaping materials that will look really good in your garden.

Jobs to do Now

The weather has warmed up and it is definitely Spring! Still loads of time to plant seeds:- for the windowsill marrows, courgettes, pumpkins and squashes, tomatoes. In the cloche dwarf french beans, sweatcorn and celeriac.

Outside grow salsify, spinach, beet and broccoli. Leaf lettuce and Florence fennel can go in now. Sow annuals such as cosmos and cornflower.

Now in Flower

Tulips are still in abundance. Also in flower are camassia, geums, aubretia, hellebores, forsythia, magnolia, prunus, viburnum. Rosemary is looking very good this year and the bluebells are beginning to come out in all the woods around Bath.

Vegetables in season are asparagus, broccoli, lettuce and radish.
